The Commons in Lincoln Announces Promotion of Nina Quirk to Campus Culinary Services Director
The Commons in Lincoln has promoted Nina Quirk to campus culinary services director, recognizing her leadership in strengthening and evolving the community’s dining program.
What Does a Campus Culinary Services Director Do in a Senior Living Community?
In her expanded and elevated role, Nina will oversee culinary services across The Commons in Lincoln’s entire campus, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and the Sub-acute Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing neighborhoods. She previously oversaw dining for the Independent Living neighborhood. Her promotion reflects three years of impactful leadership on campus, where she has played a key role in rebuilding the Independent Living dining program and enhancing the overall resident experience.
“Nina’s passion for quality ingredients, creativity and meaningful resident connections has helped redefine dining at The Commons,” said Campus Executive Director Reynaldo LeBlanc. “Her leadership continues to elevate our culinary program while supporting the growth and evolution of our community.”
How Nina Helped Strengthen the Dining Program
Since joining The Commons in 2023, Nina has refined the fine-dining experience for Independent Living residents. She has recreated seasonal menus, strengthened vendor partnerships to introduce higher-quality ingredients and recruited and developed key culinary team members to support the program’s continued growth. Nina has also represented The Commons at various events, private corporate dinners and last fall’s Newport Wine & Food Festival.
What Inspires Nina Quirk’s Culinary Philosophy?
Growing up in a family restaurant environment, Nina developed an early appreciation for the connection between food, hospitality and community. She holds a master’s degree in gastronomy from Boston University and brings a philosophy rooted in intention, seasonality and whole ingredients.
Influenced by her personal interests in gardening and foraging, Nina emphasizes thoughtful preparation and authentic flavor, introducing residents to fresh, seasonal dishes that balance comfort with creativity. Her approach centers on discovering each resident’s unique “food voice” through conversation, observation and feedback, shaping from-scratch menus that reflect individual preferences, dietary needs and evolving culinary inspiration.
