Eat at home with a freshly prepared meal kit, on campus in the Gala restaurant or Lemon Pippin Café or go out on the town. All of these options are a part of The Commons’ dining experience.
Chef Nina Quirk brings a lifelong passion for food, hospitality and connection to The Commons. Raised helping her family’s restaurant and holding a master’s degree in gastronomy from Boston University, Nina now oversees culinary services across the entire campus. Since her arrival in 2023, she has elevated the dining experience through scratch-made cuisine, thoughtfully sourced ingredients and menus inspired by residents’ personal tastes and traditions.
WTWH Healthcare recognized Chef Nina in its 2026 DISHED Senior Living Dining Innovation Awards, honoring her in the “Elevating the Experience” category for her creativity, culinary innovation and commitment to resident dining.
“You cannot truly understand people unless you understand their food voice. Every dish tells a story, every meal is a chance to connect and every resident has a voice that deserves to be heard.”
“Our residents appreciate both comforting classics and fresh culinary experiences. From homestyle favorites and cherished family recipes to seasonal dishes inspired by local ingredients, every menu is designed to feel personal, familiar and memorable.”
“There is plenty of variety in the food and no more deciding what is for dinner! Without all the cooking and dishes, it really frees up a lot of time. Plus, our friends can visit and have lunch with us and our grandchildren love to eat here!”
