Three Ways The Commons in Lincoln is Prioritizing Resident Health & Fitness
Find out how The Commons in Lincoln is challenging the status quo with its fitness center, competitive games sessions and outside activities.

We are turning the spotlight inward for a look at the top ways we help residents stay active and fit through fitness programs led by our on-campus fitness specialist, Jason Williams.
1. Encourage Friendly Competition
A little friendly competition never hurt, right? Genuinely motivating residents to reach their goals through natural competition is a fun and engaging way to promote physical fitness at The Commons. Our casual cornhole competitions and mini golf are just a few of the ways we keep residents engaged and moving.
2. Offer the Right Equipment & Help Using It
The Commons boasts a full fitness center, where residents can take classes and enjoy personalized training. The area includes a gym, swimming pool and cardio equipment. Strength training options include a leg press, functional trainer, lat pulldown/row machine and chest press. There is also a side studio equipped with dumbbells, resistance bands, medicine balls, balance equipment and a balance bar.
Residents find the area spacious, inviting and well staffed with experts. A certified physical therapist is stationed full-time in the gym alongside Jason Williams. These core team members coordinate to identify the needs of residents and provide them with personalized plans to help them maintain or improve their health.
Additionally, residents can take part in fun exercise classes, including aqua yoga in our indoor heated pool.
3. Take It Outside
The campus connects to nature trails, and Walden Pond is within walking distance. Additionally, residents enjoy outdoor walks in the spring and fall at local scenic spots, such as the Concord Wildlife Refuge and the Minuteman Trail. Another outdoor attraction for residents is the annual Scarecrow 5K each October that runs through the historic neighborhoods and trails of Lincoln.
At The Commons in Lincoln, our experienced associates understand physical fitness is important for maintaining strength, mobility and independence. That is why we are committed to helping residents work out safely, regularly and with a healthy dose of fun.
