Angela Silverstein RN, BSN
Angela Silverstein started her career taking care of medical-surgical patients in an acute care hospital setting. Early in her career, she specialized in renal transplant and hemodialysis in a large teaching hospital in the Midwest. About 20 years ago, she moved into geriatrics, and “I have never looked back.” Angela served as a Director of Nursing in several short-term and long-term geriatric skilled nursing centers before coming to The Commons two-and-a-half years ago.
She first learned about The Commons when someone she knew raved about the fantastic quality of care at the Skilled Nursing neighborhood at The Commons. “I had never worked in a CCRC setting, and I was intrigued,” she remembers. “I took one look and was hooked!”
Angela says senior rehabilitation at The Commons offers the best of both worlds: “We offer cutting-edge Skilled Nursing services and the best Rehabilitation around. It is so gratifying to watch our patients recover from surgery or illness, make gains and grow stronger and then discharge home.”
Her favorite part of the job? “People! I love people. I love teaching, interacting, communicating and sharing with our residents, families and team members,” she says. “I enjoy setting high standards for clinical excellence while maintaining high communication expectations for myself and our associates.”
